Expect The Unexpected

If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it’s never to be surprised when God changes the direction you thought you were going. With God all things are possible, so expect the unexpected! To say the last year has been a whirlwind would be an understatement. There has been great loss but also so much joy found among the sorrow. A joy that can only come from God alone.

Here is a brief timeline of the last year and a half… a glimpse of mountain tops and the valleys.

March 2024 - Miscarried for the 3rd time.

April 2024 - Family member began chemotherapy. I should also note that during this time, there were two other family members with cancer and undergoing treatment.

May 2024 - Celebrated my parents’ birthdays together while they were in from Florida.

June 2024 - Early anniversary getaway to Memphis to see Nate Bargatze. Also embarked on a new endeavor and began Mariah’s Joyful Creations!

July 2024 - Spent the week of the 4th in FL at Gigi and Pop’s house. Got to watch fireworks over the ocean for the first time ever.

August 2024 - Participated in my first 2 craft shows for Mariah’s Joyful Creations. One of which a freak thunderstorm rained us out and also blew someone’s tent into the back window of our van.

September 2024 - Had a craft show out of town so made it an overnight getaway with my hubby! Luke spent a weekend in Arkansas with Pops, got to ride a horse, turned three, and then had a big birthday party with his family and friends! My nephew turned one and had his first birthday! Ended the month visiting the zoo with Nonna & Papa and Coco & Shaun.

October 2024 - Bernie, MO and Dexter, MO craft shows. Luke painted pumpkins with his friends at church. Young family beach vacay towards the end of the month. Vacation ended with a grandparent sick. Ended the month finding out I was 6 weeks pregnant!

November 2024 - Lost a grandparent to cancer. Luke flew with Pop’s alone for the first time. Hubby and I drove to FL a few days later and spent Thanksgiving with mom and dad. Found the cause of my previous miscarriages and began treatment to keep baby and I healthy.

December 2024 - Found out we were having another boy!

January 2025 - Luke built his first snowman!

February 2025 - Luke’s first circus! And he got to see it with his best friend! Lost another grandparent to cancer.

March 2025 - God healed a family member of cancer! Decided to try and sell our house in my 3rd trimester and began house hunting.

April 2025 - Luke had Lego night at church and won a Lego set! We began seeking direction over the many homes we looked at. Our house went under contract.

May 2025 - Purchased and moved into our dream home! Got to have my momma and nana attend a Mother’s Day luncheon with me! My sweet friends threw me the cutest baby shower!

June 2025 - Our sweet rainbow baby made his entrance, quite stubbornly, on the morning of June 13th!

There is not enough time to sit and tell you all the God moments in the last year and a half. Some big, some small, but all of them impactful. I have been torn apart in the best way and my faith impacted like never before. Now I am reaping the blessings of that season. It shows me that while I truly never expected what this past year has held, God proved time and time again, that He is faithful.

I’m thankful to be in a new season, and ready for the challenges because God is faithful. Stick around to see what is in store for our little family.

God Bless!
