Settling In
We have felt settled in our new home basically since the first night. As August comes to an end, I feel like the important spaces are completed and we’ve settled into a routine with our boys. The summer is coming to an end, fall is near, and I am trying to embrace the new season of life for our little family.
I wanted to share some of the things I’ve been loving or trying recently! I’ve tried new recipes, found awesome baby things, started homeschooling our three-year-old, and even got a new cleaning buddy!
These are two of the new dinner recipes we’ve tried in the last few weeks and will be adding to the rotation.
Lasagna roll ups and sheet pan pineapple chicken!
The lasagna rolls were a different take on lasagna and much lighter. Took a while to assemble and had a few more steps, but definitely delish.
The pineapple chicken was easy! We were originally going to make it on the griddle but ended up baking it on a large sheet pan in the oven. The sauce was super simple and everything else just needed chopped.
If you have a boy that loves hotwheels, this carrying case organizer is a game changer! Definitely one of my favorite purchases this month. It’s front and back so there’s almost 50 slots for cars.
I woke up one morning and couldn’t take the Legos just thrown in a cabinet anymore. I found this on Amazon and it’s PERFECT! I thought we would fill it up, but because Legos are so small it actually still has plenty of room if he gets more. The lid doubles as a Lego board so he can build on it.
For years I’ve wanted a beautiful hutch/cabinet to keep heirlooms and favorite pieces in. This one belonged to a set of our grandparents and it’s now my favorite thing in our dining room!
Not to mention I now have a spot to highlight my favorite Gilmore Girls pieces.
If you hadn’t noticed, I’m loving incorporating the blue and white for fall!! I just think it’s so timeless and classic. It brightens up the space, especially with brown flooring and cabinets. I keep decor pretty light with 3 animals and a house with a very active boy, so this is the gist of it.
Current Meal Prep Favorites:
Breakfast bowls - potatoes, sausage, eggs, & cheese
Enchilada bowls - chicken, tortillas, white enchilada sauce, & pinto beans
Both easy. Both delicious. Both reheat well!
My first diy that I actually like! We got this wooden Y as a wedding gift, and I was going to paint it before hanging it in our new house then decided to use what I had left of the white and blue ribbon and wrap it! It’s not a perfect diy by any means, but it was simple, and I love it!
It’s so funny what makes us happy as adults. For me, it’s my new eufy Robot Vacuum and Mop combo. I knew it would help, but I had no idea how much. We LOVE having hardwood throughout the entire house, but it is ALOT to take care of with little feet running in and out and 3 animals. It has made keeping my house SO much easier! We named him Kirk. He’s a great housekeeper!
